Jeremy Clarkson suffers fresh heartbreak as beloved co-star shares cancer diagnosis

Jeremy Clarkson has been dealt another blow as his co-star has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 64-year-old TV star has returned to screens with the new series of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime. Diddly Squat Farm has returned to screens for its third season with Clarkson and his girlfriend Lisa Hogan trying their hands at rearing pigs.

Sadly, some piglets have died and the couple were left heartbroken. However, they’ve been dealt another crushing blow as construction expert Gerald Cooper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Gerald is a regular on the programme and has become a household name, much like Kaleb Cooper, 25, thanks to the popularity of the hit TV show and the Top Gear host. Following the sad news, Jeremy had vowed to offer his co-star unwavering support.

Jeremy even shared with viewers that Gerald had been taken to hospital to undergo a medical procedure. While it seems as though Gerald is now on the road to recovery, fans were on-hand to send a barrage of support online.

One person penned: “Sending thoughts for Gerald and his family,” as another added: “Cancer is so awful, sending Gerald strength.”

Jezza said Gerald Cooper, who is battling prostate cancer, is “fantastic”

The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter has previously had nothing but praise for the construction worker. In a past interview with the The Mirror, Jeremy hailed: “It doesn’t matter if you can’t understand what he’s talking about, because he’s usually talking about Manchester United.

“He’s fantastic. We’ve known each other for a very long time. He’s 72, also never been outside the village, but has worked on this farm for 50 years. He’s a great dry stone-waller, which is a dying art,” added the TV personality.

This series has been an emotional rollercoaster for Jeremy and his partner Lisa Hogan, as they’ve dealt with everything from failed crops to the heartbreak of losing newborn piglets. In one of the most gut-wrenching moments of the show, the Who Wants to be a Millionaire host had to make the tough call to euthanise his pig Baroness.

Earlier this year, Jeremy and Kaleb found themselves in trouble after they totally demolished a stone wall without thinking it through. They therefore needed to consult with Gerald to remedy the situation.

The downturn continued all last summer for Jeremy and the Diddly Squat Farm crew after the UK had been served up one of the driest summers on record for some time. This led to great difficulties with harvesting and growing crops.

It seemed to be one catastrophe after another for the newbie farmer, with potatoes that couldn’t grow, sunflowers that wouldn’t harvest and rapeseed oil unavailable after the ITV host was forced to close his restaurant. This after being served an enforcement notice from West Oxfordshire District Council.
