The BBC ‘has absolute evidence’ that could derail any appeal from former One Show presenter Jermaine Jenas over his shock sacking, according to reports.
The 41-year-old, who presented The One Show and appeared on Match of the Day, had his contract terminated by the corporation this week. The BBC received a complaint about text messages sent by the presenter last month, and launched a probe, the Mirror reported.
It has transpired that the former England player has been sacked over claims of unsolicited inappropriate texts involving a female employee of The One Show, the publication stated.

And The Mirror reported today, August 23, that the former midfielder had abused his position by sending “suggestive” messages to junior staff on The One Show.
Jenas, in a chat with the Sun has since said he “did nothing illegal — these were inappropriate messages between two consenting adults”.
And BBC bosses are confident they have “absolute evidence” that he will struggle to refute.
Those who have seen the content of the messages, believed to have been sent by the former footballer to at least one runner via WhatsApp, said they were “horrified”.
Now sources say they do not expect Jenas, who has been married to wife Ellie for 13 years and has four children, to claim he is a victim of unfair dismissal – despite his insistence that there are “two sides to every story” and that he was referring the matter to lawyers.
One BBC insider close to the internal investigation claimed it spoke volumes that Jenas was simultaneously dropped by his agents, M&C Saatchi Merlin.
“He has done some things that are incompatible with our values and what we think is appropriate in the workplace,” they explained.
“This is not just a flirty text which might get you a b*****g, he was completely over the line and we have absolute evidence of that. He really doesn’t have a leg to stand on.”
