Jonas Brothers star, 36, reveals cancer diagnosis and makes urgent plea to fans

Jonas Brothers star Kevin Jonas has shared his skin cancer diagnosis.

The pop star took to Instagram to share his health news as he underwent surgery to remove a cancerous mole. The 36-year-old heartthrob posted snaps of the mole on his hairline before it was surgically removed.

He gave his nearly five million followers a heads-up about the importance of checking their skin. Kevin, who rocks out with siblings Joe and Nick in the band, told his followers: “Friendly reminder to get your moles checked.”

Before heading into surgery, the father-of-two filmed himself lying in a hospital bed and lifting up his locks to reveal the concerning spot. He said: “Today I am getting a basal-cell carcinoma removed from my head.”

He continued: “Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer guy that has started to grow, and now I have to get surgery to remove it. So here we go.”, reports OK!.

Post-op, Kevin appeared with a bandage on his forehead. He reassured fans: “Alright, I’m all done. Now it’s time to heal.

He then re-iterated his health message to fans, adding: “Heading home. Make sure to get those moles checked people.”

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a common form of skin cancer that’s usually not too difficult to treat if caught early, according to the NHS.

Fans of Kevin were relieved that he appeared to be doing fine. One follower wrote: “You just scared us a bunch! ! ! Happy to know you’re recovering, i love you so much and wish you a lot of health! “.

Another fan chipped in: “Glad you caught it! Hopefully a speedy recovery! ” Yet another fan expressed: “Oh Kevin, sending lots of love your way. So glad you were able to catch it so soon. Hope you recover fast.”

In 2017, Kevin’s father, Kevin Jonas Snr was diagnosed with colon cancer but fortunately recovered after treatment.

Recently, fans of the Jonas Brothers were left disappointed when the band delayed the European leg of their ‘Five Albums One Night’ tour which was scheduled for May and June to September and October.

Nevertheless, despite some fans expressing anger for already having made travel and accommodation arrangements, Nick told them: “We have shifted the European dates to later this year, but that is only because we have some exciting projects that we’re very excited to share with you at a later point.”
