Jonathan Ross tells Liam Gallagher ‘relax’ after awkward Noel dig as reunion hopes slashed

Liam Gallagher has slashed hopes of a reunion with his brother during his stint on The Jonathan Ross Show.

He appeared on set with John Squire to talk about their new music, and the conversation soon turned to their respective careers away from their new album. As they were welcomed on the show, Jonathan kicked off with a question on how the pair gelled.

However, when he asked if it always gelled, Liam quipped back: “What do you mean? This is where you’re gonna have a pop now aren’t you?”

Jonathan immediately said: “No! No. Relax I’m not your brother alright?” The audience erupted into laughter and clapped, though Liam appeared less than impressed.

But things soon took a worse turn after Rob Beckett was talking about how uncomfortable it was working with his brother. He turned to Liam and said he could understand why he didn’t want to work with his sibling.

Jonathan took the opportunity to speak on the topic and said he wasn’t planning to bring it up, but as Rob had, he quizzed him on some fresh rumours. Recent claims suggested that the pair were in touch again, but Liam immediately shut it down.

He said: “I haven’t spoken to him for about 10 years, 2009 I think.” The audience then let out an “aww”, but Liam fumed: “Don’t start that.”

Jonathan added: “I think because people don’t understand what went on or what goes on they feel like maybe you’re missing out.” But he immediately quipped back with: “I’m having a great time.”

He then confirmed that it was definitely not happening before the awkward interview came to an end. As Jonathan moved on to interviewing Raye and Millie Bobby Brown in the second part of his show he couldn’t help but make a dig at Liam.

Raye had slipped up and swore on the show and as she asked if it was okay to swear, Jonathan made a dig at his previous guests and told her as long as she gave more than one-word answers everything is fine.

Raye and Millie joined Rob on the sofa after Liam and John headed off after their performance.
