Katie Price cuts off judge during hearing as she ‘finds it difficult in court’

Katie Price cut off the judge during her court appearance after being arrested at the airport.

The 46-year-old ex-glamour model was arrested at Heathrow airport on Thursday night (August 8) when she landed in the UK after a trip to Turkey. The mum-of-five was bailed by an out-of-hours magistrate the same evening.

A warrant had been out for her arrest after she failed to turn up to a bankruptcy hearing last week. She had flown to Turkey to get a reported £10,000 facelift and had been pictured arriving at a clinic in a white crop top and leopard print tracksuit bottoms.

But she risked getting into more trouble when she attended the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Friday – and interrupted her judge. Katie rocked up to court wearing a beige outfit, a black head covering and sunglasses.

Judge Daniel Schaffer told her she will have to attend a public examination and attend all the dates. He said: “You have to attend that date, no ifs or buts, no going abroad, no holidays.” Katie interrupted the judge to ask whether she would have to attend the dates in person.

She asked: “Is that in an office or a court?”. The judge told Katie it would be in court, prompting Katie to reply: “Am I able to do it via Zoom? Or in a side room? I don’t think you guys have seen my assessment. I find it difficult in court.”

She was told she couldn’t this. The judge set the next court date for August 26 at 10.30am, and although Katie told the court that she had other commitments related to other court matters that date, she said she would “move my diary for it.”

Katie also revealed she was struggling to get legal representation. She told the court: “I’ve tried to get legal advice but I’ve been charged £50,000 upfront.

“Obviously I pay 40% of what I earn during bankruptcy and they want me to pay tax and VAT – it doesn’t leave me with money to pay £50,000 upfront for legal representation. I’m finding it difficult. I can’t get legal aid as I earn – I don’t know what to do.”

Katie got a facelift in Turkey – reportedly costing £10k

Katie arrived at Heathrow airport with her boyfriend, Married At First Sight UK star JJ Slater. They had been in Turkey, where Katie had a facelift operation – but she claimed she was filming a documentary.

The star was pictured in the back of a police van with her face covered in surgery wounds and bandages. The mum-of-five addressed her impending arrest on social media before returning to the UK.

She said: “I would just like to thank everyone that has been showing support and compassion to my situation this week with my pending arrest. Despite what has been misreported, I am now in route back from filming my documentary.”

She insisted: “I was never just abroad being ignorant to what’s going on and I stand by the facts, which is that there have been miscommunications here between a number of people here to do with my bankruptcy.

“However now I am returning home from work, and I am aware that I am about to be detained at the airport which is obviously what the courts feel is necessary. I do hope of course for my son’s sake who is with me that they will allow some dignity and protection for at least his sake as this will be extremely disturbing for him to see.

“Whilst I understand the importance and severity of the matter, I do feel like I am being treated like a criminal.”
