Katie Price hits back and says she’s ‘not running’ after arrest warrant is issued

Katie Price has defiantly stated she’s “not running from matters” and is “neither embarrassed or ashamed” after a judge issued an arrest warrant when she failed to show up at a court hearing concerning her bankruptcy woes.

Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton delivered a stern warning, noting that Price had been given “very clear warnings” about the necessity of her presence in court on Tuesday.

The former glamour model was scheduled to be grilled over her financial affairs at the specialist bankruptcy court in London by lawyers representing the trustee of her two bankruptcies.

Taking to Instagram, Price explained her absence, stating she was “away working for a documentary on corrective surgeries” and acknowledged the gravity of her “fully aware of the severity of my current personal financial situation”.

Previously, a judge had cautioned that Price could face arrest if she missed further court appearances and demanded evidence if she was unable to attend.

Despite this, reports surfaced that Price might have jetted off to Turkey, with a now-vanished Instagram story seemingly showing her munching on a crisp sandwich mid-flight.

Price hit back at the press, accusing them of trying to inflict “continued humiliation to myself and family”. She insisted on her cooperation: “I have and I am continuing to cooperate with the relevant people on matters to the best of my ability which will be addressed after my return from work.”

The spirited celeb hit back, insisting: “Despite consistent stories trying to humiliate me on my personal misfortunes, I am neither embarrassed or ashamed. I own my situation and I am trying my best to work my way out of it and put matters right.”

She stood her ground saying: “I have to continue in my work in order to satisfy these bankruptcy orders which is all I am trying to do right now. I am however not running from matters and will continue to take matters with great seriousness.”

Battling through she affirmed: “I am doing the best I can to rectify things during extremely challenging times.”

Her absence at court did not go unnoticed as Judge Burton declared an arrest warrant on Tuesday, remarking that Price had “failed to attend today’s hearing” and hadn’t coughed up any excuse. She underscored: “It is in my judgment necessary that the court issue a warrant for Ms Price’s arrest.”

The judge didn’t miss a beat, stating clearly: “She has no real excuse in failing to attend today’s hearing.”

With a sterner tone, Judge Burton said: “The reason for her absence today is irrelevant.”

An arrest wouldn’t be dished out lightly by Judge Burton who pointed out that Price had shown only “piecemeal co-operation” and hadn’t coughed up even the “most basic information” about her financial woes.

Since being declared bankrupt in November 2019 and again in March this year, Price’s financial saga continues.

Earlier proceedings in February had seen Price instructed to fork out 40% of her earnings from saucy content on the adult site OnlyFans to the trustee orchestrating her first bankruptcy, pencilled for the next three years.

The glamour model was then declared bankrupt for a second time in March due to an unpaid tax bill worth more than £750,000 owed to HM Revenue & Customs.

Last October, the bombshell said she was “fed up” with being threatened with legal action and would go to prison to be “done with it all”.
