Katie Price says she ‘wants to go to prison’ so she can ‘make cash behind bars’

Pals of Katie Price say the bankrupt former glamour model fancies herself a jail stint so she can rake in more dough with interviews and potentially a new book deal.

This week the 46-year-old was arrested at Heathrow airport and driven off in a police van having failed to appear at a scheduled bankruptcy court hearing – instead the mum-of-five jetted off to Turkey for a facelift.

Now sources say the published author views her life as a “soap opera” and thinks jail time could add to the storyline. One told The Sun Katie had “bragged” that “jail “would be lucrative for her career”.

They reported that Katie Price, who has released eight autobiographies, felt it would provide material for another. “She seems to see it more as a career move than a punishment. In her eyes, it will give her material for a book and a documentary series inside women’s prisons.”

Katie was declared bankrupt in November 2019 and again in March this year. The mother-of-five had been explicitly warned that she could face arrest if she did not attend the most recent hearing. She’s also been ordered to attend a new date.

An arrest warrant was issued for the mother-of-five, Katie Price, after she failed to appear in court on Tuesday, July 30. She was scheduled to provide evidence regarding her financial situation at a specialist bankruptcy court in London and was arrested on Thursday (August 8).

Taking to social media while still in Turkey, Katie said she hoped authorities would “allow [her] some dignity” in front of her son Harvey when she is arrested.

While Katie was spotted in the back of the police vehicle shortly after, partner JJ was seen wheeling the pair’s suitcases through the airport terminal. Katie had previously admitted she knew this time would come.

She wrote: “I am aware that I am about to be detained at the airport which is obviously what the courts feel is necessary. I do hope of course for my son’s sake who is with me that they will allow some dignity and protection for at least his sake as this will be extremely disturbing for him to see.” It’s not yet clear where Harvey was at the time of the detainment.

Price’s closest brush with jail so far came around Christmas 2021 when she flipped her BMW X5 while drunk and having taken cocaine. The court gave her a 16-week suspended sentence.
