Katie Price has got a new £800 kitten after a string of controversies over her pet ownership.
The TV star – who has been declared bankrupt twice – introduced her cat on Instagram, with a post reading “New member of the family” and a picture of what appeared to be a sphynx kitten. The hairless animals can cost hundreds of pounds.
The snap showed the kitten laying on its back and snoozing on a fluffy pink blanket. “Meet the newest edition (sic) to the family,” mum-of-five Katie wrote.

The news may anger some people, as there have been calls for Katie to stop buying new pets after the death of several animals that were in her care. These included a horse that was hit by a car after escaping from its field and a dog that was killed in a road accident after it got out when a gate was apparently left open.
She also previously owned a sphynx kitten named Frog who had to put down at just a few months old after being diagnosed with a neurological disease.
Thousands of people have previously signed a petition asking for the star, 46, to be banned from owning more animals and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) once offered Katie £5,000 in exchange for signing a legally binding agreement promising never to acquire another animal.
“We recognise that things have gone horribly wrong with many of the animals you have acquired, resulting in criticism you would no doubt rather avoid,” Elisa Allen, the organisation’s Vice President of UK Programmes and Operations, said in the offer letter. “We sincerely hope you will take PETA up on the offer to provide you with £5,000 if you agree never to acquire another animal… While your intentions may be good, the ever-growing number of animals who have either died under your supervision or been given away is impossible to ignore, and people are rightly concerned.”
Katie has made it clear in the past that she is an animal lover and in an Instagram live video she previously told fans that the RSPCA had been to her home – aka Mucky Mansion – and deemed it to be totally fit for pets. “I had the RSPCA out and they ticked every box to say my animals are healthy – they ticked every box,” explained the OnlyFans star.
She also suggested she might produce the paperwork to prove it, saying: “I can’t be bothered to go on the top floor… or shall I just to prove a point? Or is it over here? Let me have a look.”
“I’m going to prove to you lot the RSPCA have been here, done an inspection and I passed everything,” she said.
