Kerry Katona has revealed she has performed a U-turn on her plans to move her family to Marbella.
The 43-year old first spoke of her desire to move to the Mediterranean almost two years ago alongside her fiancé Ryan Mahoney and her five children. Back in June 2022 Kerry took to Instagram to share a snap of herself enjoying a meal and cocktails in a Marbella restaurant with Ryan.
She penned at the time: “We’ve had the best time out here in Spain looking for our new home. Honestly can’t wait for our new start, can’t wait to continue the search.”

Further trips to the south coast of Spain followed, with Kerry adding: “We are likely to do another 12 months in the UK. We will start looking at schools soon to get an idea of what we’re getting into. So much of my work is online now, so it does make sense to think about a new start.”

Now, however, it appears the dream is over. Speaking in her OK! column, Kerry explained: “It’s no secret that Ryan and I have been thinking of uprooting to Marbella for a while, but now we’re undecided. We have read that there’s been a couple of shootings in that area and we’re just not sure if it’s the best place for our family to move to.
“Now, the plan is to stay in England and we’ve been viewing houses already – but we’d definitely like to downsize, as Heidi will be going to college soon, so it’ll just be Max, DJ, Ryan and I. A new home is on the horizon – but we won’t need as many rooms!”

Kerry continued: Speaking of minimising, if I want a smaller house I’ll need to get rid of all the junk that’s in this one first! It’s crazy how much stuff we’ve accumulated over the years. I’m at the point in my life where I just want minimalism, but it’s also difficult to part with stuff. I’m grateful for everything I have, but the bin bags are coming out and I’ll donate a lot to charity.”

During an interview with OFTV, the star shared her plans to write a novel with the help of her youngest daughter Dylan-Jorge, nine. She told listeners: “I’ve written three autobiographies, three novels and a self-help book.
“I actually want to do another book with my youngest daughter. I’d love to do a book with her about blended families. I actually want to do another book with my youngest daughter. I’d love to do a book with her about blended families.”
