Laura Hamilton clapped back after a podcast host made a cheeky comment about the constant reruns of A Place in the Sun.
The hit property show, which has been helping Brits find their dream pads abroad for over 20 years, is a staple in Channel 4’s line-up, having been on our screens for a whopping 20 series since it first kicked off in 2002.
Laura, who’s been showing off stunning overseas properties as one of the show’s hosts since 2012, spilled the beans on what it’s like to be part of such an iconic programme while nattering away on Johnny Seifert’s Secure the Insecure podcast.

She gushed: “I do feel a massive sense of belonging to A Place in the Sun. It’s great, it’s Channel 4’s second longest-running show alongside Countdown, I think.”
“And to have been part of it for as long as I have, I’d say it’s like a safety net but it’s not, because nothing’s safe in telly and you don’t know what’s going to happen next.”, reports the Express. “But yeah, to be part of that has been a massive honour.”
Then Johnny, dropping a bombshell about Channel 4 being in hot water after announcing a cull of 200 jobs and plans to flog its London HQ, cheekily quipped that if punters hang about “for an hour”, they’re bound to catch an episode of A Place in the Sun.
He added: “It is so part of the schedule that it would be a weird place without it.” Even with the repeats, it’s absolutely fine because you think of Channel 4 and you think of A Place in the Sun.” Laura quickly responded: “Don’t say that! We want new episodes to come out.” Johnny retorted: “Well, you do want the new episodes to come out, but it’s so part of that schedule.
It’s so integral that you can’t imagine Channel 4 without A Place in the Sun.”
