Lea Michele showed Glee co-star ‘whole vagina’ and grabbed a lamp for him to see it

Glee actress Lea Michele once showed her co-star her “entire vagina”.

Michele recalled: “Jonathan [Groff] and I became so close. We were so intertwined. At one point, I literally showed him my whole vagina. He was like: ‘I’ve never seen a woman’s vagina before, would you show me?’ And I was like” ‘Sure,’ and I took a desk lamp and showed him. That’s how close we are!”

The Glee actress made the wild statement in the HBO documentary Spring Awakening: Those You’ve Known, which is the show Michele and Groff were starring in at the time of the vagina-exposing incident. The actors also appeared alongside each other in Glee.

According to Lea, Jonathan never reciprocated her gesture: “I’ve never seen Jonathan naked. I’ve never seen his penis.” At the time, back in 2006, Michele was 19 and Groff was 21.

In the play, the pair acted as teenagers learning about their bodies and their sexualities. Groff explained: “We made out so hard in this play. We would have like sweat and snot was coming out of my nostrils and saliva and tongues and mouths.”

Jonathan admitted that he was discovering his own sexuality at the time, before he came out as gay. He struggled with the thought of his sexuality being exposed on stage: “Lea and I were given this material where we had to fall in love, but the first thing I felt was: ‘They’re going to know I’m gay. F***. I’ve never had sex with a girl. I’m in the closet. I’m just going to pretend that I know what I’m doing.”

During the stage performance, Lea and Jonathan had a very racy scene and prepared by discussing intimacy backstage before the performance. Lea spoke to People about the on stage moment: “I’m so grateful that we connected in the way that we did so what we were able to go on the stage and then have that level of trust. If we didn’t, I think it would’ve been really impossible and just so challenging to have to tackle that material every night with someone that you don’t feel that safety and trust with.”
