Liam Payne’s family’s heartache as body can’t return home due to ‘not complete’ review

According to authorities in Argentina, a toxicology report on Liam Payne’s body is yet to be completed, causing his family to wait further until he can be brought back to the UK.

The singer, aged 31, who passed away on Wednesday (October 16) last week in Argentina, tragically fell to his death from a third story balcony.

Police and prosecutors are still investigating the circumstances that led to the former One Direction star and dad-of-one falling to his death at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires.

The post-mortem examination has revealed that Liam died from ‘multiple injuries’ after he fell over 40 feet.

The singer’s father, Geoff Payne is currently in Argentina after flying out following news of his son’s death.

Geoff reportedly flew out to the country to identify his son’s body and bring him back home, however due to the toxicology review not being complete yet, he’s currently unable to do so.

According to Sky News, public prosecutor Andrés Esteban Madrea told Geoff that the toxicology and histopathological exams are not complete, which means that Liam’s body is unable to be released yet.

With the devastated dad offering to do ‘everything’ he could to help assist investigators to better understand the circumstances that led to his son’s shocking death.

A public prosecution spokesman said: “During the meeting with Mr Madrea the musician’s father expressed his desire for an investigation and his wish to know what happened, and told the prosecutor that he was willing to testify about everything he knows about his son’s life that could help the probe.”

This comes after it was earlier shared that the preliminary toxicology report found that the singer died with cocaine in his system, but that final toxicology results are still pending.

For dad, Geoff and the rest of Liam’s family, having to wait to be able to take Liam’s body home following his death, is heartbreaking.
