Love Island fans believe they have worked out the ‘real reason’ behind Jake Cornish’s sudden exit just three days into the All Stars series.
Earlier this week, it had been reported that the Weston-Super-Mare native had departed the ITV villa less than a week after the highly anticipated show hit the airwaves. Loyal fans will remember how the 26-year-old reunited with his ex- Liberty Poole on day one.
The pair confessed that they hadn’t spoken to each other since they left the villa the day before the final back in 2021. And things quickly turned awkward when the public decided to couple the former flames up after the Liverpudlian struck up a spark with Mitchel Taylor.

Over the past few days, viewers have seen the pair getting closer and closer while Jake has remained on the side lines. And on Wednesday (January 17), the reality star decided it was time to bid farewell to his fellow All Stars after failing to find love in the villa.
Before the cast settled in for the evening, Jake called everyone around the fire pit for a chat. It was at this point that he revealed he was leaving the villa as his co-stars reeled in shock.
He explained: “Ok, listen, everyone, listen, everyone. I was here to find love. There’s no one here really, that I’ve got that connection with, I don’t wanna waste time.
“I don’t wanna give my energy to someone who’s just forced this fate. So yeah, I just I’m gonna let you all know that I’m going tonight, OK?”
After sharing the devastating news, the Islanders immediately shouted “We love you Jake” before he pulled his ex Lib for a private chat. Jake then packed his bags and bid a final farewell to the South African mansion before meeting Maya Jama for an exit chat.
As the dramatic scenes hit the airwaves, viewers flooded to the social media site X – formerly known as Twitter to share their thoughts online. Many are convinced the hunk left the show because he didn’t get on with his fellow co-stars.
One user penned: “Jake really left because nobody likes him lmao, could’ve at least given it a week. He didn’t even try.”

Another agreed: “Jake looked at the babes and said, ‘Nah there’s no love here for me boy’.” A third echoed: “Respect to Jake for leaving tbh if there’s nothing there why stay.”
Fans will have to stay tuned to see if Liberty and Mitchel will seal the deal or whether their eyes will wander as bombshells enter the villa. Love Island continues on weeknights on ITV2 from 9pm or catch up on ITVX.
