Love Island has been hit with more Ofcom complaints from furious fans
55 reports have been received by the broadcasting watchdog following the episode which aired on Sunday (July 7) and a spokesperson has since confirmed: “The majority of complaints related to Nicole’s behaviour towards Ciaran.”
Nicole Samuel has been coupled up with Ciaran Davies since the first week of the ITV2 dating show but things have been rocky for the pair.
Movie Night returned on Sunday and the group gathered to watch videos of each other after their experience in Casa Amor – with drama ensuing between most couples.
Viewers urged bosses to axe Nicole from the show after she was seen shouting and swearing at Ciaran. One wrote: “Ciaran needs to split with Nicole this is never gonna get any better. He’s always gonna be the bad guy.”
Another said: “Nicole has extreme jealousy issues. It’s already a bit of a toxic relationship and they aren’t even out of the villa yet. He spends a lot of time being accused and it will the end of them ultimately. She needs to work on her insecurities. It’s quite sad.”
A third viewer fumed: “Nicole is so insecure, it’s unbearable. Why is everything an argument???” While someone else simply said: “I want Nicole out.”
A fourth fan penned: “Nicole annoys me. Somehow we need to get Sean and Nicole out at the same time,” and someone else typed: “I can’t stand Nicole she’s so insecure get her out.
Ciaran and Nicole’s most recent disagreement came after Ellie Jackson was put into the villa and it emerged that Ciaran had previously slid into her DMs and the pair had chatted before going on the show.
Ellie explained to Nicole that they had shared messages for months before going on to meet each other on a night out – Nicole was left fuming that Ciaran had missed out that detail. She pulled him for a chat, demanding he tell her absolutely everything that happened between him and blonde Ellie.
Ciaran was bemused as to why Ellie made out to Nicole that their history was deeper than it was. He told her: “Nothing happened between me and her, I was not at all involved with Ellie, I was not.” As Nicole was suspicious he was hiding something from her, Ciaran pulled Ellie for a chat to clear it up.
Explaining she was making it sound worse than it was, she replied: “I never said anything happened between us, you just weren’t honest. You said it was a couple of DM’s.
“I’m not being dishonest here, I’ve sung your praises to her. You don’t remember a lot to be fair. You don’t remember seeing me on a night out, you don’t remember asking me to come down. You literally sent me videos of your dogs on Snapchat, I’m not being funny.” It comes the show was hit with 475 complaints last week related to Jess White’s behaviour towards Harriett Blackmore.
Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm
