Love Island star Tasha Ghouri has revealed her exciting new career opportunity.
The professional dancer-turned-model is turning her hand to a new book – which she said could lead to even bigger opportunities. The star’s fiction book titled Hits Different will be released late this year.
The story follows a girl called Cassie who has some striking resemblances to Tasha herself. Telling us about the book, Tasha said: “I’ve got my book coming out called Hits Different that I co-authored with Lizzie Huxley.

“You can preorder it now but basically, it’s about girl called Cassie she goes to Ibiza and she also has cochlear implants. So the main thing was representation in books for me as we don’t see that often. And it’s got kind of like snippets of my characteristics in Cassie.
“I wouldn’t say it’s got my storylines, but I think more of my personality and what I’ve gone through in obstacles. She’s a dancer as well, and her best friend is non-binary, and my best friend is also non-binary, so it’s got some elements in there that you see a bit of Tasha in there.”
But what plans does she have for the book? Can she see it being televised? Tasha answered: “Absolutely, we’ve kind of already said if Netflix or something was to come and say let’s make a film, I’d do it. I think that would be incredible. When you read it and envision it in your head, I think it would be great.”
And who would she like to play the lead – and would she be up for the job? She added: “It would have to be someone with a cochlear implant, and I can’t think of anyone who does. But I actually would to be fair, I think it would be a cool skill to learn and I was quite good at drama as well. So I don’t see why not…”
In other news, Tasha will be hitting the runway in London this evening in a groundbreaking, VIP fashion show, solely featuring individuals who have been diagnosed with hearing loss.
To mark World Hearing Day this weekend (Sunday), Tasha will be joined by ten hearing aid wearers who will become models for the day, in a bid to challenge outdated stigmas around hearing loss. Among the line-up are men and women aged between 26 and 80 years-old – who intend to show the world what living with hearing loss really looks like.
This is an industry first, hosted by Boots Hearingcare, to gather and celebrate people who have taken action and are living exciting and fulfilling lives since embracing their hearing loss. Through hosting the event, the hearing care experts hope to encourage the millions of people across the UK living with an untreated hearing loss to do the same.
Tasha said: “World Hearing Day is this weekend and together with Boots Hearingcare we are raising awareness by challenging stigmas around hearing loss. Being born deaf myself and wearing a cochlear implant, there are a lot of barriers to knock down so we’re able to normalise hearing loss in today’s society. Especially on runways and in the media, I really want to see more diversity and inclusivity so that everyone feels represented. I look forward to taking part in this event and celebrating everyone out there who has taken the bold step of getting their hearing tested, giving them the opportunity to transform their lives.”
