Love Island star spills on All Stars interview process after turning down show

Love Island bombshell Rachel Finni has spilled the tea on the interview process for All Stars and has revealed to us that it would take “much longer than two weeks” to enter the South African villa.

The 32-year-old, who recently confirmed she was pregnant with her first child, lifted the lid on the process of getting onto the ITV fan-favourite. The reality star explained that the operation was anything but quick and that ex-Islanders going on to the show will have jumped through a number of hoops.

Rachel is more in the know about the process of All Stars due to the fact she was personally asked to apply by an ITV producer. The luxury hotel’s group specialist had even filled in all of the forms and was ready to start interviewing but had to take a back seat after learning she was expecting her first child – news which she is over-the-moon about.

When chatting to Daily Star about to prospect of being on the very first All Stars series, she told us: “I was approached to go on All Stars as were a lot of people. Just because you’re approached doesn’t mean you’re definitely going in.

“You still have to do all the interview stages and all the chats. But yes, I was approached and asked to apply like everyone else.” Although Rachel understood that many people from previous shows did not get the same nudge from ITV chiefs.

The stunning bombshell from series seven didn’t really understand why she’d been selected for the casting process but wondered if they were holding back some “favourite islanders” for future shows to come. She added: “I wouldn’t say it’s a select few who are approached as I knew a lot of people that weren’t approached or didn’t have a conversation but I do know a handful of people that were, so I think it’s in two parts and not necessarily because we were favourites.”

Rachel said she’d heard whispers of Winter Love Island being scrapped completely with All Stars taking over going forward. The mum-to-be pondered over the prospect that good people may be being saved up for another series.

She said: “I’ve heard they’re going to do away with Winter Love Island and just continue with All Stars every year now. So maybe they just reached out to really impactful favourite Islanders for the first series and then maybe the ones who weren’t considered to be entertaining enough for the first will be asked for the next one.”

She could have tried the spin-off series, but realised her life was moving in a completely new direction as she readies to become a mum to her unborn child. Lifting the lid on how she let producers down gently, Rachel laughed before shedding light on the situation.

“I went through the process, completed the application and the then it’s the first stage interviews. It was coming up to the first round and I literally just sent the producer a picture of my ultrasound and captioned ‘oops’. So it was all over then for me,” explained Rachel.

During the interview, Daily Star quizzed Rachel over bombshell Arabella Chi’s swift entrance into the villa. It had seemed as though she had made a rash decision to be on the show after it was reported she’d been dumped by her football boyfriend Ruban Dias. The couple were last spotted at Manchester airport at the start of the month, leaving the model just a few weeks to head to South Africa.

Speaking about the lengthy process to be on the hotly awaited ITV programme, Rachel explained: “The Love Island process, even for a second time around, I can tell you it’s not been a two week application process. Arabella would have been very well aware of the choice she’d made.

“If you also bear in mind that they have to fly you out a while before the show begins so you can go into hiding, it’s not like they are short of Islanders willing to go.”

Love Island All Stars airs nightly on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm
