Love Island hunk Joe Garratt has spilled the beans on what really goes on behind closed doors in the famed villa.
The 27-year-old, who appeared on the ITV2 dating programme back in 2020, got candid and admitted that the cast would often take care of their urges if need be. This in spite of ITV’s ban on saucy self-pleasuring antics taking place with the TV channel having strict rules on “acceptable behaviour”.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online following his last stint in Spain, the ex sandwich man could’t resist spilling all the secrets of the sex-staved cast. The hunky islanders admitted to us that self-gratification pursuits did go down from time to time, all under the knowing eye of other cast members.

Joe shared with us: “I will neither confirm or deny it myself but if you need to, you need to.” Throwing in a comical tone, he jested: “At the end of the day it’s a very stressful environment and you have to somehow relieve yourself of some stress.”
He observed: “I think everyone does it sneakily, they just don’t tell anyone.” According to the star, every time a solitary act unfolded, the lads in the villa were quick to catch on to what had secretly taken place.
According to Joe, there seemed to be an unspoken bond among the boys, with guilty looks saying it all. Spilling more tea, he added: “We all just look at each other and know that they did.”
Joe isn’t alone in dishing about this self-pleasuring activity. Iain Stirling, the comedian and show’s voice-over, also made headlines after shedding light on the topic back in 2019. During a chat with Vice magazine, the well-known voiceover artist asked: “I imagine they’re asked to follow the normal masturbation rules, not in front of people and not in communal places?”
Masturbation is a tricky topic for Love Island executives, as it’s officially banned according to the show’s rule book. The programme has strict set of guidelines that include no smoking inside the house, pool or garden, no nudity, no masturbating and no unsafe sex.

However, Joe’s recent comments suggest that teams could be willing to turn a slight blind eye when it comes to self-pleasure. Previously, rumours swirled that Sherif Lane was kicked off the show for breaking this particular rule.
The speculation was rife that he’d been spending too much time in the shower. But later, Sherif admitted he was asked to leave after accidentally kicking his co-star Molly-Mae Hague in the groin.
Meanwhile, bombshell Joe turned heads as he waltzed into the All Stars villa alongside stunning twins Eve and Jess Gale. The trio was tasked with getting to know people quickly before a brutal re-coupling where they were allowed to choose first.
Joe opted for Arabella Chi while Eve went with Callum Jones and Jess going for Casey O’Gorman – leaving fan-favourite Kaz Kamwi single and dumped from the programme.
Love Island airs nightly at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
