Madonna is being sued by a disgruntled male fan who claims her ‘Celebration Tour’ show was akin to a steamy adult film.
Justen Lipeles has taken legal action after attending the singer’s concert in Inglewood, California, on 7 March, arguing that there should have been a warning about its explicit content. Court documents obtained by The Blast reveal that Justen also complained that the gig at the Kia Forum started over an hour and a half late, and the venue was unbearably hot due to Madonna allegedly insisting the air conditioning be switched off.

He took issue with being “forced to watch topless women on stage simulating sex acts” during the performance, stating in his lawsuit: “Forcing consumers to wait hours in hot, uncomfortable arenas and subjecting them to pornography without warning is demonstrative of Madonna’s flippant disrespect for her fans.”
Justen is accusing both Madonna and concert promoter Live Nation of six offences, including breach of written contract, negligent misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false advertising, negligence/negligent infliction of emotional distress and unfair competition. He is demanding a jury trial and argues that those affected are entitled to compensatory damages.
Notorious moments from Madonna’s risque ‘Celebration Tour’ include her re-enacting the infamous kiss she shared with Britney Spears two decades ago with a backup dancer and flashing her underwear on stage. She has also been known to wear bondage-inspired outfits at her shows, as well as lingerie and a nun’s outfit.
Madonna is currently facing two other class action lawsuits over her lateness, with both sets of plaintiffs alleging the performer was hours late for her scheduled performances. The suits criticise her for showing “disrespect” towards fans and claim she lip-synched during much of her show.
Madonna filed a counter motion to dismiss one of the complaints in April, arguing it was illogical for fans to expect her to start on time. She stated in her response: “No reasonable concertgoer and certainly no Madonna fan would expect the headline act at a major arena concert to take the stage at the ticketed event time.”
