Married at First Sight Australia star Madeleine’s secret acting past has been discovered.
Madeleine Maxwell caused a stir when she interrupted another wedding going on on the show, in tense scenes that left viewers wincing. However, it turns out that drama is part and parcel for the bride intruder, as she has racked up a number of appearances on soaps down under.
Previously, it was speculated by her other wedded couples that Madeleine had been brought in by producers to stir things up, and it may just be possible. It was revealed that Maxwell has starred in a total of 115 episodes on TV, as well as appearing on a slew of other reality TV shows.

Of these various shows, Madeleine was most present on smash Aussie soap Home and Away, where she was a regular on set. Taking on the role of Nurse Amber Simmons, Madeleine was on the show sporadically from 2020 to 2021, making an appearance in over 50 episodes of the show.
As well as this, Madeleine was also spotted in prison drama Wentworth Prison from 2016 to 2018 playing Nurse Lee Radcliffe. She also was seen playing the role of Brianna Wheeler in Aussie drama Upper Middle Bogan from 2013 until she left in 2016.
However, it does not end there as last year, Madeleine had another brush with tasting money. In 2023, she took part on the Millionaire Hot Seat – the Australian name for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? – but sadly left the show with no money whatsoever.
Opening up on why she left her acting life behind to come onto MAFS, Madeleine explained: “I love acting. I think it’s so fun and cool, but I took a break because it’s my path, I guess.”
Previously, her fellow co-stars on the reality show were convinced that Madeleine was secretly a mole, brought in to test the strength of their relationships, according to Aussie magazine So Dramatic! This was down to Madeleine’s unwillingness to open up on her career as an actress, which she said would lead others to believe the theory.
A source close to the show told the gossip magazine: “At her wedding, none of her friends or family would talk about the fact that she was an actor. Some of us spoke to them, and they just kept saying she was a psychic medium.
“Her bridesmaid’s speech was a glowing resume about all of her life achievements,” the insider continued. “But didn’t once mention that she was on 55 episodes of Home and Away and is an accomplished actor.
“Why wouldn’t you mention that? It was very bizarre and suss. The whole wedding was actually so cooked.”
Married at First Sight Australia is currently airing on Australia’s Nine Network.
