Married at First Sight UK cast members were left gobsmacked as two stars returned to film the reunion show as a new couple.
Matt Pilmoor and Shona Manderson turned up for the Married At First Sight UK: Reunion Special together holding hands, leaving their co-stars with their jaws on the floor. The pair went public with their relationship in November last year after months of keeping their romance under wraps.
Their paths didn’t cross during their time on MAFS UK due to the pair being in the experiment at different stages. They first met at the first reunion show, which was recorded in June 2023, and they hit off immediately. Matt and Shona confirmed their relationship five months later after going on string of secret dates after filming ended.

An exclusive clip shared with the Daily Star from the upcoming reunion episode shows the exact moment Matt and Shona shared the news that they are a couple to the group after splitting from their previous spouses, Adrienne Naylor and Brad Kelly, who were selected by the show’s relationship experts at the start the the experiment last year.

As the loved-up pair walked into the final dinner party, they were greeted by their co-stars who were visibly shocked to see Matt and Shona walk in together. Speaking to the camera, Matt said: “This is the moment we finally get to share that me and Shona are together. We’ve been keeping it quiet for so, so long now and its time for everyone to see us and see how well matched we are.”

Sitting down with the group, Shona explains: “Matty and I didn’t know each other. I never seen him but we were at the reunion and Matt walks in and we had a little moment. We both wanted to take our time, we went on a date in Sheffield and that was it.” Video footage from their secret romance then plays out showing a bunch of flowers Shona received from Matt and also a cute clip of Shona running into her beau’s arms as they enjoyed some time together away from the spotlight.

Following the final episode of the 2023 series of MAFS UK airing in November. Matt and Shona shared a video of themselves kissing to Instagram, with the caption: “The moment the announcement was finally dropped and we could be free” The pair also spoke to OK! Magazine, where they revealed they’ve been in a relationship, waiting for the show to finish. Shona told the publication at the time: “We have a really healthy, happy, safe, fun, relationship – I really appreciate Matt so much, it’s what I deserve, we deserve each other. I’m proud to be his girlfriend and it just works.”

Matt added: “We said to each other it’s a bit soon, let’s not meet straightaway, so it was about five weeks after the reunion when we met.” Shona then added: “I wanted to learn from my experience with Brad, I didn’t want to go in head first, I wanted it to be a slow burner.” The pair are now happier than ever, with both Shona and Matt revealing they have plans for both previously hinting at marriage and children in the future.
