Molly-Mae Hague fans left with ‘nasty taste in their mouths’ as she unveils fashion line

Molly-Mae Hague’s new clothing line has angered some fans who were disappointed by the prices and sizing.

The former Love Island star unveiled Maebe this week and it sold out in just 24 minutes, with fans desperate to snap up pieces like a cute white t-shirt and an “ultimate blazer”. But while most fans loved Molly-Mae’s range, others were miffed about the fact that her Large was described as being a UK 12.

Others complained about the prices. With a blazer that had a £140 price tag and jeans for £90, some Molly-Mae fans felt they were being priced out of the line.

“Ridiculous prices you are charging!… mugs who are buying it!!” one person wrote on Instagram, as another said: “Today’s the day… that we get a nasty taste in our mouths from overpriced clothing. I know she’s got millions of followers (me included!) but I will no longer be following Maebe. There’s zero maybes from me as to whether I’d waste my money on this. I don’t think I’m alone. It’s accessible to ‘all women who have over 6 figures in their bank accounts’. Back to Zara for me then!!!”

“I’m sorry but the prices are ridiculous, we’re already struggling in the UK as it is, what a letdown,” said someone else. Others said it was “so expensive” and one disappointed fan felt it was “way overpriced”.

“Congratulations, you deserve happiness but I’m so gutted I couldn’t afford any of it,” said another fan. “Can’t justify £35 for a plain t-shirt, want to support you but when we all work and are paycheck to paycheck with a family it’s hard.”

There was also a size guide shared on Instagram and some people didn’t like what they saw. “Does make me quite sad that a UK size 12 is marked as a ‘large’,” one person said, as another chimed in: “Size 12 is a medium in my eyes.” “A 16 being a 2XL is rather humbling,” said somebody else.

However, other pointed out that Molly-Mae’s line was inclusive, ranging from size 4 to size 20 and with Maebe’s website showing models of different shapes and sizes in the clothes. They also pointed out that Molly-Mae wasn’t going for fast fashion but quality pieces, which was reflected in the prices.

One said on X: “OMG @mollymaehague’s clothing line is actually cute, affordable, and size inclusive. We used to pray for times like these.”

“Thank you for being inclusive,” said another fan of the TV beauty. “It feels so nice to be SEEN.”

“She is going for a more high class brand,” said someone else on Instagram. Another pointed out: “The price really depends on the quality of the item. Think about clothes you have bought for cheaper but not lasted long. These are classic staple items that are investments, and should therefore get so much more wear of them.”
