Netflix fans ‘can’t stop watching’ cult UK show and some have ‘seen it 3 times in 2 weeks’

Netflix fans are obsessed with a brand new show that has taken the world by storm.

Over in the Netflix Bangers group on Facebook, one member asked others what they think about Supacell, a new superhero show about a group of people in South London who find out they have powers. An influx of comments came from eager streamers who assured the original poster that the show was a “good watch”.

One person said: “Absolutely love it. Have watched it 3 [times] already,” while someone else said: “Love it, just waiting on [season] 2.” A keen streamer simply called the series “amazing” while another comment read: “Loved it, it’s brilliant [clapping emoji] can’t wait for season 2.”

“Pretty good. I hope they make a second season,” gushed one Supacell fan. More streamers rushed to the comments to admit they had “just binged” the entire show as they begged Netflix to “hurry up” with the second series.

Supacell was released on 27 June

One person chimed in: “It was amazing, I like it, I hope they bring it back,” as another fan branded it “10/10”. Netflix’s description of the show reads: “When five ordinary South Londoners discover they have extraordinary powers, it’s down to one man to bring them together to save the woman he loves.”

Supacell stars Nadine Mills, Tosin Cole, Josh Tedeku, Adelayo Adedayo, Calvin Demba and Eric Kofi-Abrefa. The British superhero television series was released on Netflix on 27 June and Rapman is the showrunner, creator, writer and lead director while Sebastian Thiel directed three episodes.

The show follows “ordinary” people who discover they have super powers

A premise of the show explains that the “seemingly ordinary” characters are all connected by a family history of sickle cell disease. After uncovering their supernatural traits, they all manage to find each other and work together to avoid being taken by a secret organisation, who knows of their powers and wishes to control them.

The series has had Netflix fans bingeing for weeks

Filming took place way back in December 2022 in South East London, where the series is set, and was wrapped by early 2023. The series has generated a huge buzz online with many Netflix streamers admitting that they’ve binged the series within a few days.
