Netflix fans cry ‘we won’t recover’ from cliffhanger series with bombshell twist

Netflix users have been left amazed by one seriously “heartbreaking” series.

One Facebook user added a picture of The OA’s promo poster and wrote: “[Seven] days ago I saw someone on Facebook writing about this show, The OA. I was bored so thought might as well give it a try – OMG!! This is just so great and I want it to keep going forever [laughing emojis] What do you guys think?”

Down in the comment section, many fans gathered to discuss the Netflix series and one person warned streamers against “falling in love with the show” as it is “too heartbreaking” as the producers “never finished it”.

Despite the missing conclusion, one Netflix streamer urged fans to give it a go: “One of my favourite shows ever. Worth it even though there is no ending. If you like this, watch Dark, my other favourite show.”

Many more people quipped that they “love the show” and were “disappointed” it was cancelled without an ending, while some even branded it their “favourite series ever”. The OA is an American mystery drama series with elements of science fiction, fantasy and supernatural sprinkled throughout the storyline.

Viewers begged for another season

The two season show follows Prairie Johnson, a young woman who returns after going missing for a number of years. She was blind before her disappearance, but upon her arrival she can see and brands herself “The OA,” which stands for “original angle”.

Prairie refuses to disclose where she has been, despite being begged by her family and the FBI. Following this, she builds a team of four high school students and one teacher.

She tells them her story and what happened to her while still refusing to divulge any information to her loved ones. Eventually she uses the team to help her save other people by travelling through a portal to another dimension.

The series was first released in 2016 and despite it’s unfinished ending, it was listed as one of the best TV shows of the 2010s and the 21st century.
