Netflix streamers can’t stop gushing over one “fire” TV show.
Someone wrote in the Netflix Bangers group on Facebook: “This series is so interesting. I totally enjoyed it. Highly recommend. Title – Queen of the South, rate the series if you’ve seen it.” More members share their opinions in the comment section with one person writing: “This fire [flame emoji].”
Others wrote their thoughts and agreed “100%,” said that they “love it” and that the show was a “10/10” in their books. Someone else made the bold statement: “Best series of all time,” and signed off with a red heart emoji.

“Crazy twists. I didn’t have any clue when I started but I was impressed with the first episode and completed the whole show in a few days,” typed another fan. “I fell in love with this years ago,” added another Queen of the South fan.
“Best series I have watched, 10/10,” gushed another as someone else branded the show “all time favourite”. Queen of the South is a crime drama series that was first released back in 2016.
Netflix’s description of the show reads: “Forced to work for a cartel that recently killed her boyfriend, Teresa relies on her street smarts, a loyal friend and a mysterious notebook to survive.” The show stars Alice Braga, Peter Gadiot, Hemky Madera, Veronica Falcón, Joaquim de Almeida, Justina Machado, Gerardo Taracena and Molly Burnett in the ensemble cast.
The show is an adaptation of the telenovela La Reina del Sur, which was an adaptation of the book of the same name by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. Queen of the South centres around the main character Teresa, a poor Mexican woman who manages to build and maintain a huge drug empire.
Her life is full of ups and downs – after falling in love with a member of the cartel, he is murdered which leads her to flee and cross the border into the US. Teresa’s story becomes far more complicated when she in the hands of the wife of the cartel boss who is chasing her across the country.
