On a Reddit forum for the franchise, one person said: “Here from Netflix show […] I binged the Netflix show and I want more but can’t wait for season two, so which book should I start reading?” Someone else commented on the project and said the series was “quite enjoyable”
3 Body Problem has been adapted from the 2008 novel The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu and follows the story of “a young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China which reverberates across space and time, and into the present day”.
In the description, Netflix explains that the “laws of nature inexplicably unravel” before the eyes of a group of scientists. Together, along with an “unorthodox detective,” the group must discover the “greatest threat in humanity’s history” in an adventure through “fictional past, present and future”.
3 Body Problem was not only created by the same people who made Game Of Thrones, but features many familiar faces from the show including Liam Cunningham, Jonathan Pryce and John Bradley. The trio are known for playing Davos Seaworth, High Sparrow and Samwell Tarley.
Elsewhere among the cast is Star Trek’s Rosalind Chao and Doctor Strange’s Benedict Wong among other famous faces including Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani, Jess Hong and Eiza González. Ahead of the series’ release, fans of the book series expressed concerns over whether the creators will do a good job.
Underneath the YouTube trailer, many begged producers “not to mess up,” but judging by the reception it appears they’ve succeeded.
