The edge-of-your-seat series is based on a popular webtoon of the same name by author Kkomabi. Fans couldn’t tear their eyes away from their screens until they’d binged the entire series and took to Twitter to share their rave reviews.
Some are already asking for another season, one viewer wrote: “Binge watched #AKillerParadox and loved every minute of it! #ChoiWooShik just nails every role given to him and even though his character is doing bad things you can’t really hate him. It kinda reminded me of Taxi Driver but obviously this is a bit different. How about a season 2?”
A second said: “A Killer Paradox completed it within a day and omg it was so mind-blowing, drama I’ve seen like this was so interesting from start to end, there’s not even a single point where u feel bored. The plot was so great and the way the table turned in the last ep. I hope we get a 2nd Season.”
A third tweeted: “Whoever wrote #AKillerParadox is a mad genius. And #ChoiWooshik absolutely smashes this role.” Another agreed, saying: “It is a well-crafted mystery thriller full of interesting and surprising twists. The camera technique, music that heightens anxiety, and Choi Woo-sik and Son Seok-gu’s passionate acting are outstanding.”
Star actor Choi Woo-shik, who you might know as Edward Cho, plays the leading role of Lee. The actor, who received critical acclaim for his role as Ki-woo in the hit movie Parasite, has wowed viewers once again in A Killer Paradox as fans dubbed him “absolutely incredible”.
Director Lee Chang-hee discussed his vision for the thrilling series ahead of its release. Speaking to The Korea Times, he said: “I wanted to throw up a question on what it would be like to have a figure like Lee Tang in real life.
“He is a character who continuously questions whether killing wrongdoers is his special gift or a mere coincidence until the end.” He added: “I had no intention of creating a dark hero. I simply thought it could offer an entertaining thrill with the fictional aspect, kind of feeling satisfaction vicariously.”
