Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek have hit the headlines after an awkward red carpet exchange was caught on camera.
The clip is from the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week and was actually from last month. However, it resurfaced after eagle-eyed fans spotted what looked like a tense moment between the Hollywood beauties, with Nicole seeming to brush Salma’s hand off her.
With the sound level low it’s hard to work out what went on, but the general consensus is that it was something to do with having photos taken. Nicole and Salma were on the red carpet and at one point Salma put an arm across Nicole and seemed to be steering her around to face the photographers. However, Nicole moved Salma’s hand off her.

The Perfect Couple star turned away and hugged singer Katy Perry, who was also there, then was seen sharing a few words with Salma. While it’s not clear what was said, some outlets are quoting an onlooker as claiming that Nicole told Salma: “Don’t touch me.”
The clip has gone viral and has sparked speculation about tension or secret beef, with some fans wondering whether Nicole was giving Salma the cold shoulder.
However, dampening down speculation about it being a clash is the fact that just a day after they met at the event Salma shared a sweet snap of her and Nicole together. The image was posted on Instagram as part of a carousel of images from Paris and showed the actresses standing next to each other and smiling.
One source also told People magazine that there wasn’t any bad blood between the Tinseltown stars, insisting it was a “silly” situation and adding: “Salma and Nicole love and respect each other.”
The Daily Mail also quoted an insider as explaining that there was “no issue” and that the pair “are friends”. “This is a snippet of a video that doesn’t represent reality,” they said.
“There is a photo of them posing together. Nothing happened.”
The insider also said that the celebs were actually talking about “something concerning advice and having a pow-wow” and that it was taking place while they were surrounded by cameras and people calling out. “They just wanted to go,” the source told the publication.
