“He had my phone number and I had his phone number.”

Janice also mentioned how thrilled she was to be performing at London’s Pride weekend. She said: “I am beyond excited. London, England, the UK has put this song Dreamer in such an iconic space. And in the back of my mind, I was like, ‘God, I wish I used my name’. But you know what, everything happens for a reason.

“I always tell people, the journey that Dreamer had, is not the journey that I had. I did get to do shows, and I got to travel, don’t get me wrong. But there came a point in my life where I wanted to just be Janice Robinson. Yeah. I was taking care of my parents for years out of the spot light, and so I bravely stepped away.

“And I know I made this name Livin’ Joy famous. I know that these people love this song. But I have to be true to myself. Yeah. I was born Janice Robinson. That’s who I am. And my story is now going to be seen on the big screen soon.”

Janice is also currently working on a dance album to celebrate 30 years since the release of Dreamer. She has recently released singles with London-based record label OMG Collective with ‘Just A Little Love’ and ‘Love Comes Once In Your Life’.
