Oasis ‘forced to reform’ by AI as Liam Gallagher praised fake song before reunion

Liam Gallagher took a liking to a fake Oasis song before he and brother Noel got the band back together.

The once-warring siblings have put their differences aside and decided to get Oasis back together. They announced they’ll be heading out on tour next year with dates across the UK and Ireland, including four nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.

And last year, 51-year-old Liam listened to a song created by artificial intelligence and reckoned it was “mega”. In fact, he reckons the track spawned by AI project AIsis (a name with a fun nod to the human version of the Britpop titans) was better than anything else out there in the rock scene.

Its creators were so desperate for Oasis to reform that they decided to make their own Oasis album. They said: “We’re bored of waiting for Oasis to reform, so we’ve got an AI modelled Liam Gallagher to step in and help out on some tunes.”

Singer and songwriter Bobby Geraghty generated the album by feeding Liam’s voice in through AI tech over songs performed by his old band Breezer. He used Google Colab software to train the AI voice by using acappella recordings of Liam.

The eight-track “alternate reality” record, titled The Lost Tapes Volume One, is an imagining of what might have happened if the band’s 1995-97 line-up “continued to write music”. And it seems the bots scored a hit as people described it as “mind blowing”.

The record went viral and Liam himself even got wind of at least one track. He took to X and wrote: ““Mad as f*** I sound mega. Heard a tune it’s better than all the other snizzle out there.”

Geraghty invited Liam to join the band on a charity single. He wrote: “I am glad he has enjoyed it. It was done with the best intentions in mind. Maybe he could join on a little charity single with us.

“This is appealing to people who want them to be back in Oasis. It’s been a bit overwhelming. We saw the rise of AI generated vocals. We tried it and sent it to our friends.

“They loved it, so we put in on YouTube and it just kind of blew up. It’s just taken on its own trajectory. The feedback from everyone is telling. I don’t think this has ever happened before with any original stuff.”

The band will play 14 dates across the UK and Ireland next year

The last time Oasis played a live show was all the way back in 2009, some 15 years ago. The band have since been forced to shut down rumours that they were going to headline Glastonbury next year.

On X they wrote: “Despite media speculation, Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury 2025 or any other festivals next year. The only way to see the band perform will be on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour.”
