Olympic champ Nicola Adams looks for film and TV roles as she hires acting coach

Nicola Adams has been to acting classes.

The first woman to win an Olympic gold medal for boxing now longs for success in TV and film.

In the past she’s had a handful of small roles, but she’s keen to hit the big time. She told me: “I’ve always wanted to do acting. It just happened that my boxing took off first.

“But now I’ve finished with boxing, I can focus on my passion for acting. I’ve got an acting coach now and I’ve got things in the pipeline.

“It’s great to have a new challenge. I’m super excited about it. I can’t wait.”

Nicola is already famous around the world thanks to her boxing success.

She won gold at the London Olympics in 2012 and again in Rio in 2016. And her experience in sport is helping her when it comes to her new career.

She said: “The discipline I have from boxing really helps with acting, especially when I’m learning lines and with the commitment it takes.”

Nicola has plenty of mates in showbusiness after stints on Strictly, Celebrity Bake Off and Celebrity Gogglebox.

It means she’s got a lot of people she can go to for advice.

She said: “I admire all actors. To make people believe that what they are seeing on screen is real
is an unbelievable talent.”
