One Direction were one of the most sought after bands in the UK, thanks to their mass appeal.
The group, which was formed on the 2010 series of The X Factor, came to dominate the charts after the show as fans went crazy for the young lads. The band went on permanent hiatus in 2016, however, though fans continue to follow the boys as they head toward solo commercial success.
But away from the music, the boys were known to get up to raunchy antics during their time as a band. This came despite the fact that they were not necessarily meant to be indulging themselves in X-rated romps, focusing solely on their careers.

So, as band member Niall Horan celebrates his 31st birthday on Friday (September 13), Daily Star looks at some of One Direction’s numerous sex confessions.
Multiple girls a night

Back in 2013, One Direction were riding the wave of success, bagging hit after hit. This, in turn, led to the group gathering a huge fanbase, mostly made up of young girls.
This was not a problem for a young Harry Styles, who was reportedly having a wild sex life at the time. In an interview, Niall claimed that Harry was “unbeatable” in the pulling game, saying: “He never runs out of stamina!”
The Irish lad went on to say: “I’ve lost count of all the girls he’s pulled on this tour. He sleeps most of the day, then does the gig and stays up all night with pretty girls in his room; he’s a total rock ‘n’ roller.”
However, while sources close to Harry appeared to confirm he would bring around four girls back with him a night, this also spelled trouble for relationships. The insider added that his promiscuity may have played a part in the downfall of his fledgling relationship to Taylor Swift.
Sex ‘ban’

In 2017, former member Zayn Malik released his much-anticipated autobiography, titled Zayn. In the book, the Pillowtalk singer said that there was much that the band could not indulge in whilst they were together – including romps.
Writing in the book, Zayn shocked the world as he admitted he was happy to be able to sing about his new life experiences. “I was also able to sing about a subject that I hadn’t really been able to go near while I was in One Direction: sex.”
It emerged that the boys were told they could not get down and dirty during their tours. However, footage would later emerge of an alleged Zayn and Harry attempting to sneak fans into their hotel rooms to get up to no good.
This restriction led to a snap back when Zayn went solo, admitting that his smash hit “TIO” revolved around stripping down to nothing. He explained that the song – then-titled “Take It Off”, was meant to have a more wholesome meaning, but ended up becoming explicit over the course of writing the song.
Making fake news

Back in 2019, it was revealed that a number of Niall Horan’s sex confessions had been entirely made up by his bandmates. Co-star Louis Tomlinson revealed all in an interview on Australian radio that confirmed that the boys would mess about and make fake stories about the Irish lad.
Cheeky boy Louis confessed: “When I was in One Direction, sometimes, we just used to make up different people that Niall had slept with on tour.” The admission seemingly left host Smallzy in stitches, as he tried to comprehend Louis’ revelation.
However, fans have disputed whether Louis had been telling the truth when he made the confession as the tone of the chat was rather jovial. Niall himself has not commented on the revelations, with Louis also going quiet soon afterwards.
