Only Fools and Horses legend’s love life with Hollyoaks actor who appeared in EastEnders

Only Fools and Horses’ Cassandra Trotter experienced a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the series.

Her tumultuous relationship with Rodney Trotter was marked by numerous break-ups, often triggered by false accusations of infidelity or her ambitious nature, and she also suffered a miscarriage.

Despite these hardships, the couple eventually found their happily ever after, welcoming a daughter named Joan, in honour of Del Boy Trotter and Rodney’s late mother.

While her on-screen love life was fraught with challenges, off-screen, actress Gwyneth Strong leads a contented life with her fellow TV star husband. Gwyneth is married to Jesse Birdsall, known for his roles in Footballers’ Wives and Hollyoaks.

The couple tied the knot in 2000 and have two children together – Oscar, born in 1988, and Lottie, born in 1991. Jesse gained fame for his role as playboy Marcus Tandy in the BBC soap Eldorado, which followed the lives of affluent expats in Spain.

Despite the show only running for a year, it provided Jesse with significant exposure, leading to his role in Footballers’ Wives as manager Roger Webb.

Away from the small screen, Jesse has had a couple of run-ins with the law, including a conviction for actual bodily harm in 1981 and a £1,000 fine in 1999 following an unprovoked attack on a pub-goer in London. Both Gwyneth and Jesse have appeared in EastEnders, but not concurrently. Jesse made his debut on the soap in 2012 as the spurned fiance of Sharon Watts.
