Liam Gallagher has rarely been out of the news in recent times – largely thanks to his reconciliation with big brother Noel and the reuniting of their iconic band, Oasis.
Four-and-a-half years ago, however, the Live Forever singer caught the world’s attention for very different reasons. At the height of the Coronavirus pandemic – and with all his local pubs closed – the frontman took to X to entertain himself and his legion of followers from the comfort of his own kitchen.
Fast forward to today – National Handwashing Day (October 15) – we thought we’d take a moment to recall Liam Gallagher’s hilarious, yet bizarre instructional videos that helped get us through such torrid times.

Liam’s first clip arrived on March 21, 2020 – two days prior to the UK government introducing the first national lockdown measures. “New tune WONDERWASH c’mon you know LG x.”
WARNING – explicit language in X videos below, viewer discretion advised.
To the tune of Oasis’ monster 1995 hit, Wonderwall, Liam sang: “Today is gonna be the day that they’re gonna throw it back to you/By now you should have somehow realised what you’ve got to do/Wash your hands, scrub your toes, scratch your arse and pick your nose/Come on you know.”
Liam returned to his account later in the day with a second – more expletive-ridden offering – a clip he captioned: “Alriiiiiiiiiiight 1 more this is it, its a beauty I wanna dedicate this to the 1 n only Simon Aldred love you Rasta LG x.”
To his solo hit, For What Its Worth, this time he sang: “For wash its worth I’m sorry for the germs/I’d be the first to say wash your f***ing hands.”
And third came a new rendition of Oasis debut hit, Supersonic. “Here’s another one you might know,” Liam wrote. “It’s called SOAPERSONIC. If you know the words wash along LG x.”
He sang: “I need to be myself/I can’t be no-one else/I’m feeling soapersonic/Give me gin and tonic/You can have it all but how much do you want it?/Wash your hands you little f***ers!”
Capping a memorable time on social media, Liam fourth effort saw him parody Oasis’ Champagne Supernova. “Back by popular demand here’s champagne SOAPERNOVA thank you all for washing and I’ll see you down the road LG x.” he said, before breaking into song.
“Some day you will find me/Caught beneath the landslide/In a champagne soapernova in the sky/Wash your hands you little f***ers.”
