Noughties kids, remember N-Dubz and their absolute tunes?
From “I Need You” to “Number One”, these Camden Town legends cousins Dappy and Tulisa, plus Fazer served up some serious anthems that still bang on a nostalgia trip.
They scooped a MOBO for Best Newcomer in 2007, had a stint with Polydor, then smashed it with All Around the World. Their debut album ‘Uncle B’ went double platinum, spawning four Top 40 bangers.

In 2009, they nabbed Best UK Act at the MOBOs again and dropped their second album ‘Against All Odds’, which soared to number six and snatched a platinum certification. That’s when they also scored their first top 10 hit with “I Need You”.
After one more album, they took an 11-year break for solo gigs. Fast forward to May 2022, and boom they’re back with a fresh track and a sold-out tour across the UK. But get this fans have just clocked something mega about their name.
Michael Chakraverty spilled the beans on X: “Today I learned that N-Dubz got their name from the NW London postcode.” And guess what? It’s true.
The ‘N’ in N-Dubz is a shoutout to North-West London, where they hail from. As for “Dubz”? Well, that’s open to interpretation, but it’s all part of their urban mystique.
When Michael shared it online, people were absolutely floored they just couldn’t wrap their heads around this juicy tidbit they’d missed. The revelation left music buffs confessing it completely flew over their heads.
A baffled user chimed in: “Took me too long to work that out by which time I realised I was probably the wrong demographic for N-Dubz.”
“Wait, what?! That is brand new information.” gasped a second, clearly shaken by the trivia. A third joined the chorus of astonishment: “Omg, this is two band names I’ve learned about in the space of one evening. Saturday has truly blessed me.”
And a fourth was downright in disbelief: “Shut up, that can’t be true.”
