Phillip Schofield breaks silence on bombshell TV return as he talks ‘survival’

Phillip Schofield has shared an insight into his TV return as he broke some bombshell news.

The former This Morning presenter left the show last year after his relationship scandal with a much younger TV runner went public, but it appears he is making a telly comeback.

The host shared a clip of him looking dishevelled whilst sitting on a tropical sandy beach, with the caption: “Now you know how I spent my Summer! Alone for 10 days, no food, no water, no crew. My story of survival, both on a desert island and off it.

“Cast Away starts Monday on @channel5_tv & My5 at 9pm.” The comment section was turned off so it is unclear on fan’s thoughts on the matter.

The shunned TV host, 62, is set to return to TV in an exclusive 3-part series for Channel 5. This will be his first television appearance in over 12 months,.

Phillip will tell his own personal story in an emotionally charged ultimate survival experience titled Phillip Schofield Cast Away. It will be broadcast on three nights from Monday 30th September to Wednesday 2nd October.

The show will follow Phillip as he is cast away for ten days and nine nights on a remote island off the coast of Madagascar. The only company Phillip will have is that of a handful of cameras as he documents his own experience. whilst he explores his own controversial story.

Talking about the show, Phillip said: “This is most definitely a first for me and the only thing I felt compelled to do. It appealed to me on so many levels. I’ve recently had a lot of time to think about my life, what went right and what went wrong, but I’ve always had the safe arms of friends and family wrapped around me.

“This time it’s just me, no ‘phone, no comforts, no crew and only lip balm as a luxury. I’m looking forward to exploring the island, trying to tie knots to secure my shelter and foraging and fending for myself in the wild … with no help. Maybe I’ll be Robinson Crusoe, or maybe I’ll just be Tom Hank’s Wilson and quietly drift off into the wild blue yonder!”
