Piers Morgan has been forced to apologise.
The TV presenter has been shoved into a rare humbling backtrack and issued an apology to Beyoncé and Jay-Z after comments were made on his show referring to them alongside P Diddy. Combs, 54, was arrested on 16 September with charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
He has denied all of the allegations made against him. In an October 2nd episode of ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’, the host spoke to Jaguar Wright who said: “For four years I’ve been screaming not just Diddy, but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters.”, reports the Mirror.

Wright didn’t stop there, later spouting that Jay-Z was “worse than Diddy” and had heaps of victims under his belt. This led to complaints to Piers, sparking him to say the comments were “totally false”. Morgan issued a regretful statement saying: “Jaguar Wright made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyonce during their interview.”
“As I said at the time, they were not present to respond or defend themselves,” and added that the power couple has since replied through legal channels asserting: “They have now responded. Their lawyers contacted us to say those claims were totally false, and have no basis in fact.”
Subsequently, Morgan admitted that the content was excised from the broadcast: “We’ve therefore complied with the legal request to cut them from the original interview. Editing interviews is not something we take lightly on a show called Uncensored,” declared the presenter.
Wrapping up, Morgan drew parallels with handling risky speech and extended his apologies: “But like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theatre, there are legal limits on us too. We apologise to Jay-Z and Beyonce,” Morgan concluded, before noting an amended version of the sit-down is available for viewing on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored YouTube channel.
Combs was nicked on 16 September in New York City on allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering. He’s currently at the Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) over in Brooklyn.
His lawyer Marc Agnifilo spoke with journalists outside the courtroom on Tuesday, September 17 and said: “Mr Combs is a fighter, he’s going to fight this to the end. He’s innocent. He came to New York to establish his innocence. He’s not afraid, he’s not afraid of the charges.”
