Putin’s BFF Steven Seagal ‘balloons to 320lbs’ in latest Russian propaganda appearance

Former action star turned Russian darling Steven Seagal appears to have piled on a few pounds, if his latest propaganda appearance for Mad Vlad is anything to go by.

The 6ft 4ins Hollywood veteran is literally living it large since upping sticks from the US to move to the warring nation, and getting cosy with its leader. In a newly released documentary, called In the Name of Justice, the 72-year-old displayed a distinctly ballooned belly. The Under Siege star’s appearance saw him visiting Ukraine and espousing how the war-torn nation brought it upon themselves, while looking 320lbs (nearly 23 stone).

Despite trying his best to manage the images that are released, October’s documentary shows a vastly different figure to that of the 90s star who beat all-comers on the silver screen, reports the Daily Mail.

Throughout the 30-minute documentary Seagal’s big belly is noticeable, causing his untucked shirt to sag from his waist, pushed out by his hefty midriff.

The beefy ally of President Putin is featured meandering through Russian-controlled Ukrainian territories amid scenes of destruction and ruins.

As per a description on the Smotrim platform, translated from Russian, Seagal “personally spoke with the victims of Ukrainian nationalists and saw with his own eyes what is happening in Donbas,” a reference to the region seized by Russian forces in 2022.

A previous colleague of Seagal’s commented to the publication that he’s put on “at least 50 pounds,” mentioning also that Seagal would likely be enraged by his portrayal in this production.

“Seagal, as a rule, controlled the narrative hard when filming as he insisted on certain camera angles and nothing that accentuates his weight gain,” the source said.

Recent photos of Seagal have emerged, who was awarded Russian citizenship in 2016 and has since been selling off his extensive collection of American properties.

Seagal, who has referred to Vladimir Putin as a “brother” and one of “the greatest living world leaders”, has made few social media appearances in recent years, but when he has, he is often seen wearing loose-fitting, mandarin-style coats that conceal his physique.

The actor had starring roles across the 80s and 90s and was raised in America, but his grandparents were Russian immigrants.

Since he became a Russian citizen, he has claimed to be “one million percent Russian” and was honoured with the Order of Friendship by Putin for his important role in promoting international culture and humanitarian cooperation.
