Ruth Langsford ‘scores major victory’ in Eamonn Holmes divorce as he moves on

Ruth Langsford has reportedly landed a major victory in her divorce from ex-husband Eamonn Holmes.

The Loose Women anchor, 64, is continuing her painful split from former partner and GB News presenter Eamonn, 64. Both Eamonn and Ruth confirmed in May they had called time on their relationship, with the divorce process now reportedly getting underway.

Eamonn has already moved on in finding love as he sought comfort in relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 42. The pair have already jetted off on holiday together, and Katie has been seen going into Eamonn’s luxurious London pad after he was given the boot by Ruth just before they called it quits.

Now, Ruth is said to have been given another boost in the divorce proceedings as he relinquished all control of their prized possession. The QVC presenter will now get to have custody of their beloved dog as part of the deal for the couple’s division of assets.

The four-legged-friend, a collie cross named Maggie, had been at the centre of a dispute between them, which had been stalling proceedings. But a friend of the Northern Irish star has confirmed that he will give up his rights to looking after the pooch.

“Eamonn has resigned himself to the fact that he will lose ownership of Maggie,” the insider told the Express. “He loves that dog with all his heart but it looks like Ruth will be the dog’s main carer.”

The source added that Eamonn hoped that once the dust had settled, he may be able to spend some more time with Maggie once again. Maggie has been a big part of the family dynamic, having joined the clan back in 2010 – with Eamonn joking that Maggie was in “better shape” than him.

Updates on the dog’s health have been coming from both sides, as Eamonn and Ruth keep worried fans calm on how the pooch is getting on. Ruth said in an update: “Maggie had a little wart removed this morning under sedation so she’s feeling a bit sorry for herself this afternoon! Lots of TLC from Mummy required.”

Ruth and Eamonn’s relationship has soured dramatically after it was revealed that the former This Morning presenters were ending things back in May. It has since emerged that Ruth reportedly found text messages from another woman on his phone, which triggered the break-up after 14 years of marriage and over three decades of being together.

Following the chaos of their split, both Ruth and Eamonn are no longer on speaking terms, only communicating through each other’s lawyers. Ruth herself has instructed a top law firm to process her divorce, who were responsible for the split between King Charles and Princess Diana in the 1990s.

It comes as Eamonn and new beau Katie jetted off to the island of Ibiza for a romantic getaway over the weekend. The pair appeared to take in the sights of Ibiza town on Friday (September 13), with Eamonn cheekily grabbing his new partner’s rear.
