Rylan Clark has slammed trolls after they lashed out at Tulisa’s appearance on I’m A Celebrity.

The presenter and former singer, 36, took to social media on Sunday (November 17) to hit back at criticism the N-Dubz star, also 36, suffered from online trolls. It comes as the Young singer enters the I’m A Celeb jungle for the latest series of the hit ITV reality show.

One viewer fumed: “I thought Tulisa was Pete Burns reincarnated. Why do lovely looking girls do that to themselves?”

A second troll cruelly penned: “Tulisa should have had the leaky boat, her lips would have helped her buoyancy in the water.” Whilst a third simply said: “I didn’t even recognise Tulisa at first.”

Responding to the rude comments directed at the singer, former Big Brother ‘s Bit on the Side host Rylan blasted their remarks. He also gave his love to Tulisa and gave her his backing as she takes on the jungle challenge for viewers.

Sharing a snap of Tulisa in her jungle getup, Rylan gushed over his X Factor pal, writing: “YES 2012, come through!” He went on to add: “Also before people start going for appearance, Tulisa has been through a lot health wise the last few years – so let’s not make s**t jokes about her on Twitter yeah,” followed by a kiss.

Tulisa has opened up about her health issues in the run-up to her stint on I’m A Celebrity, revealing that she had been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. The condition triggers the face to become temporarily paralysed and often requires medication and steroids to bring under control.

Speaking in an interview with The Guardian back in 2019, Tulisa admitted that she is often in serious pain as a result of the disease. “I’ve got chronic pain and inflammation down the whole left side of my body as well as in my face and in my kneecap; steroids reduce the inflammation,” she confessed.

In a recent chat with Love Island star Olivia Attwood on her So Wrong, It’s Right podcast, Tulisa also opened up on having cysts in her face caused by the condition that were bursting and only worsening her symptoms. She had to have surgery to remove some of the cysts, but still has a number of spots still in her face that could pop at any moment.

As a result, Tulisa was forced to inject fillers into her face to maintain symmetry, as she tried to hide her condition at the height of her career. The N-Dubz singer has now opened up about her health issues, and said that she has “emergency steroids” to hand at any time so she knows how to manage the condition.

I’m A Celebrity airs every day at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
