Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson have revealed they have set up pensions together – but Sam is convinced his co-star won’t live long enough to use it.
The dynamic duo returned for the latest instalment of their podcast Staying Relevant this week, and revealed to listeners that they had taken their friendship to the next level. Following in Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s footsteps, the pair decided to set up pensions together for when they’re old and grey.
But the I’m A Celebrity winner, 31, isn’t too sure his 36-year-old co-star will live long enough to use it. The former TOWIE star began: “Sam and I have just set up pensions together.”

Sam immediately chimed in with: “Yeah! We’re literally gonna grow old together. I can’t wait to be in an old person’s home with Pete. We’re both in our little wheelchairs.
“My one’s going to have an electric thing. Pete’s going to have the old school one where he has to use his arms for it.”
It was at this point that the brunette hunk revealed his pals fears for his life on the podcast. He told listeners: “The funniest part when Sam and I were talking about potentially setting up our pensions, was when Sam said to me, ‘Do you think you’ll actually see it?’
“Honestly, that’s what he said to me,” he insisted. “He went, ‘Yeah but it’s quite a long way off though. Do you think you’ll make it?’”
Pushing the star for an answer, Sam chuckled: “Well, do you?” to which Pete bluntly replied: “No.” And Pete isn’t the only friend Sam has annoyed this week after his jungle co-star Tony Bellew joked that he and Sam are now “rivals” after competing against each other on Soccer Aid.
During the charity event, the former Made In Chelsea star played for the England side while the pro boxer joined the Rest of the World line-up. During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, the dad-of-three joked that the pair have become “frenemies”.
He told viewers: “Me and Sam are now going to become rivals. I gave him a call and said, ‘I think I am going to do Soccer Aid’ and he said, ‘I am going to love spending time with you, we are going to train together, I am going to get to shoot balls past you’.
“Well, no you’re not mate, because I’m on the other team! I didn’t have a clue what team I was going to be on or what was going to happen, but now you know. So, we are now rivals and no longer friends – we are frenemies.”
The friends have yet to make amends after England won the star-studded match against Rest of the World with an impressive score of 6-3. The three lions took home the win for the first time in six years, and the team certainly made sure to celebrate their success as they painted the town red.
