Severance’s mysterious season two trailer leaves fans fuming at Apple TV

Severance fans finally have an update on season two.

Apple TV has posted the trailer for the upcoming series and fans are already begging for the show to start. The release date has been confirmed as 17 January 2025 and in the new “official teaser,” the Severance Floor has been turned upside down.

As main character Mark S. frantically sprints down a Severance Floor hallway, flashes of previously unseen footage shows his co-workers Helly, Dylan and Irving experiencing the tense aftermath of the first season’s bombshell finale episode.

Mark finally reaches this office and is faced with three co-workers he’s never seen before. Suddenly, the ever-ominous Milchick appears holding a bunch of balloons and through gritted teeth the iconic villain quips: “Welcome back, Mark S. Been a minute.”

In the YouTube video’s caption, Apple TV explained: “Things look a little different around Lumon […] In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down the path of woe.”

The ensemble cast, which includes Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette, are set to reunite for the long anticipated second instalment of the thriller series.

Down in the comment section, many fans fumed over the three year wait while others simply couldn’t contain themselves as they gathered to discuss the mysterious season two trailer. One person wrote: “Season 2 has some big shoes to fill after a perfect season 1, but fingers crossed they pull it off!”

“Can you imagine I’ve been waiting for this series for almost 3 years and I can’t move on from the ending…this series is so underrated…Severance deserves to [sweep the] Emmy [Awards] next year if they don’t snub this season,” gushed another fan.

More comments branded the show “one of the best TV shows ever,” boasted that Severance “might have a chance at becoming one of the greatest shows of all time” and exclaimed that the second series “is going to be so awesome”.

“My heart is pounding from just this little trailer. Omg I cannot wait for this show to return,” typed one eager Apple TV subscriber as a second chimed in: “Boy it’s been a long wait,” and a third: “Come on January. I can’t wait.”
