Sex Pistols star makes veiled dig at Johnny Rotten as band reunites without him

Sex Pistols star Glen Matlock has admitted how he felt about the band getting back together.

The group went on tour earlier this year with some of its original members, including Steve Jones and Paul Cook. Frontman Johnny Rotten was the OG singer but in the new era of the band singer Frank Carter was brought in for vocals.

Talking about the band’s new lineup and his upcoming tour, Glen exclusively said: “We’ve been touring this year, it’s been great. We have been touring with a new guy, who is great, he’s got the right spirit.

“He comes over a bit more affable than the other bloke. It’s not the same thing but we don’t pretend it’s the same thing.

“When you’ve been in the game as long as I have, nobody is really better or worse than anyone else, but the thing is they do kind of play like their personality.

“When you work with different people, everyone brings something different to the table. It makes it a little more interesting and fresh when you play with different musicians.”

Along with the Sex Pistols, another big group has reunited this year, Oasis. However, Glen shared the annoyance he has with the squabbling siblings. Glen said: “I’m annoyed at them because they made it acceptable to make sleeves long and it made it harder for a bloke like me to get a good shirt so I hold them responsible entirely, like clothes for orangutans.”

When asked what he thinks about their comeback, Glen added: “Good luck to them, I think Liam Gallagher’s voice and personality is great. They’ve had a lot of success in the whole Manchester scene.”
