Stacey Solomon ‘quits’ Channel 4 show after Loose Women exit fears

Stacey Solomon is reportedly leaving her Channel 4 show after just one series.

The former X Factor finalist, 34, is said to have cut ties with her show Renovation Rescue. Instead, she is choosing to focus on her various other TV projects – including smash BBC hit Sort Your Life Out.

On her Channel 4 show, the DIY queen helped rescue homes that had been left devastated by poor and shoddy work by cowboy builders. Homeowners would have their homes renovated to a quality standard, with Stacey at the helm, making their dreams come true.

But according to The Sun newspaper, the show would often take up too much time, leaving other projects behind – something she was not happy with. Speaking to the newspaper, a source close to the show said: “Stacey had a great time making Renovation Rescue but the fact she isn’t doing a second series allows her to focus on her projects with the Beeb.

“They’ve been a huge success and the NTA win is evidence that the viewing public love what she does,” the insider added. Stacey has been recognised several times for the work she does in her BBC shows, with Sort Your Life Out going on to win a Royal Television Society award earlier this year.

It comes as fans of the TV personality become concerned she has left another one of her projects – Loose Women – behind. After having been a staple of the show for years, a stark absence on the panel has left viewers wondering if she has quit the show for good.

This was only compounded when mum-of-five Stacey was missing from Loose Women’s portrait to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary. The photo saw all of the current line-up, including stalwarts Denise Welch and Coleen Nolan getting glammed up in silver dresses to mark the milestone.

Stacey herself has neither confirmed nor denied the rumours of her departure, though if true – this would not be the first project she has walked away from. In recent weeks, Stacey said she had to step back from a huge role in her career to spend more time with the kids and hubby Joe Swash.

In a touching post to her Instagram stories, Stacey revealed that her time as a fashion designer had come to an end. “Today has been a wonderful but emotional day as I shot my LAST EVER collection for In The Style,” she penned.

“I have loved every single second of being able to design & create clothing with the most incredible team & literally bring my dreams to life,” she added. She went on to explain that she has been trying and failing to maintain a work/life balance, and is making changes to support that.

A proud mum, Stacey welcomed the newest addition to the family – Belle – with Joe last year. The pair also share Rex, 4, and Rose, 2; while Stacey shares her eldest two kids – Zach, 16, and Leighton, 11, with her previous relationships.
