Star Trek actor Chris Pine looked completely unlike his usual self as he stepped out with long blonde hair for the premiere of his new movie Poolman.
The actor was clearly getting into character as Darren Barrenman, the owner of pool-cleaning company Awesome Aquatics, as he waded onto the green carpet in a pair of tiny blue shorts that cut off above the knee and a cream t-shirt with I Heart LA emblazoned across the front.
Chris added a peach-coloured blazer over the top of his shirt, pinning a vibrant pink flower to his lapel, and left his legs bare in a pair of simple white socks and muddy boots with red laces. He posed with hands on his hips and a pair of reflective orange sunglasses atop his head, blonde hair trailing past his shoulders and a bushy grey beard transforming his face.

The star even arrived in a van branded with his fictional aquatics company, bearing the slogan: “Love’s alive in Los Angeles” across the side and boasting a roof-rack. He’s set to star alongside Danny DeVito and Jennifer Jason Leigh in the new movie.
An official synopsis for the movie reads: “Darren Barrenman is an unwavering optimist and native Angeleno who spends his days looking after the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment block and fighting to make his hometown a better place to live.”
Darren eventually discovers the “greatest water heist in LA history since Chinatown.” He’s forced to make alliances with a “beautiful femme fatale” while coping with “corrupt city officials, burned out Hollywood types, and mysterious benefactors”.
Chris has been spotted on set of the film wearing a black and white striped long-sleeved shirt and baggy grey trousers, donning a floppy hat over his blonde locks and with a camera slung around his neck.
He previously chopped off his longer locks for a style buzzed closer to his head after a comment from his publicist sent him reeling. The Don’t Worry Darling star admitted to Esquire: “I thought I was looking pretty, pretty fly, the hair was long, everything was happening, and my publicist said I looked like Rachel from Friends.

“I couldn’t unhear it. And it was the first day and my first time in Venice… It was a long flight to f***ing Italy. I was so jet-lagged and then you get thrown into a press conference where you get to talk about a film you made five and a half years ago. I was just tired, frankly.”
After looking ruffled at the Don’t Worry Darling premiere – sparking the Harry Styles ‘spitting’ incident – he cropped his hair when he returned to the United States.
