One of Star Wars’ most beloved actors looked completely different as he reunited with Ewan McGregor.
Hayden Christensen shot to fame when he starred in the sci-fi fantasy movie series. Taking on the role of a young Anakin Skywalker, Hayden was amongst the most recognisable faces when the second trio of films first started gaining traction.
After the series ended, Hayden returned to relative obscurity while other celebs such as Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher rose to international fame. Since then, he has made very few public appearances in order to maintain his privacy.

But on Thursday (September 12), Hayden broke cover to support his Scottish co-star Ewan as he was honoured with a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Fans who came out to offer their best wishes to the actor were left stunned when they found Hayden, who looked worlds away from his Star Wars days.
Now aged 43, the actor left the long cloaks behind in favour of a black suit with a white button down. Offering a more formal look, Hayden paid tribute to the Scottish actor in an emotional speech that tugged on the heartstrings and left fans gushing over the pair’s relationship.
During the rousing speech, Hayden said of his co-star: “I often think about the first time that I met you. We were both in Australia, many moons ago, getting ready to do Star Wars: Episode II.
“I walk into this room where I’m told Ewan is going to be, and before I can even put eyes on him, I hear his voice,” he recalled. “And he exclaims my name with more enthusiasm than I think I’d ever heard it spoken with before.”
The reclusive actor went on to say that he and Ewan were greeting each other as if they were good friends, which echoed how he still feels about Ewan today. “So, my friend Ewan, I want to thank you for being the best Jedi Master that anyone could have ever hoped for; you always had my back and I thank you for that.”
The last time that the pair had acted together on set had come in 2005 with the release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. However, they also had minor roles to play in the 2022 miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi, which aired on Disney+.
Ewan’s career has expanded far beyond boundaries of the Star Wars franchise. As well as his critically acclaimed portrayal of Obi-Wan, Ewan has also made appearances in the likes of Rogue Trader, Moulin Rouge and Trainspotting.
In the iconic series, Ewan took on the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, while Christiansen played Anakin Skywalker – who would later go on to become Darth Vader. The Scottish lad only joined the franchise for its reboot, after Obi’s original actor Alec Guinness, sadly passed away.
