Strictly Come Dancing’s Susannah Constantine has shared a shocking health update after receiving a life-threatening diagnosis.
The 61-year-old fashion guru who appeared on Strictly in 2018, revealed that she often contemplates her mortality “most mornings”. The TV star underwent emergency surgery last year due to arteriovenous fistula, an abnormal connection between an artery and a vein.
Speaking candidly on Loose Women on Friday (April 5), Susannah revealed to the panelist that she is “fine” despite her serious neurological disorder. She said: “I feel fine.

“I mean, I did have this mental, this sort of weird neurological disorder and it was life threatening, but you just kind of think, well at my age anyway, you just take these things on board. I think that is one of the huge benefits of getting older.”
She addd: “You’re less fearful in some ways and although I do think about my mortality most mornings when I wake up, I’m cool about it. I’m in a really happy place. Life is so simple and I’m essentially, I’m primarily a wife and a mother, a housewife who happens to work and that’s exactly how I like it.”
Susannah had previously dismissed symptoms of her condition like pins and needles in her arm. But it eventually led to bleeding into capillaries affecting her spinal cord and brain, putting her at significant risk during surgery.
She previously told The Sun: “I had this thing called an arterial fistula and I still don’t understand what it was, I was very lucky not to have a stroke or be paralysed.” So I have a total clean bill of health now, thanks to the NHS and surgeons, they set me on the path to health.”
Eleswhere in her interview on Loose Women, Susannah also opened up about her 30-year friendship with partner in ‘fashion’ Trinny Woodall. In the 2000s Trinny and Susannah undressd the nation as thtey gave candid fashion tips.
Susannah said: “I think because we became such close friends, and we continue to be such close friends, because we are complete opposites. All the kinds of things that I lack in my personality or emotionally, she has and vice versa.
“So, I can’t think of a single thing that we do the same. We think the same about a lot of things but you know, she’ll, [and] this has just come to the top of my head, but when I go to loo, I’ll use one piece of loo paper and she’ll use the whole roll.”
