Strictly fans convinced Nikita is quitting show after ‘clue’ as BBC bosses ‘furious’

Strictly Come Dancing fans are worried that Nikita Kuzmin has quit the BBC show.

The Ukrainian-Italian dancer, 26, has been a professional on the programme since 2021 and has become a firm favourite amongst fans. But after reports emerged that Nikita had signed up for Celebrity Big Brother, doubt has been cast on his Strictly future.

On Instagram, the BBC star shared a number of snaps taken from the Strictly tour which concluded in February. This featured an image of Nikita and 2023 partner Layton Williams clutching two glitterball trophies.

The post had his followers concerned as they raced to the comments to address rumours about him leaving. One pleaded: “Don’t quit strictly.”

A fourth penned: “Most beautiful people. So many people missing you guys. Thanks for posting. And if rumours are true we’ll be with you all the way.” It is believed BBC bosses were angered by Nikita signing up for a rival show, with his place on Strictly now in “jeopardy”.

“Bosses at Strictly are hopping mad after learning that Nikita has signed up for the rival show,” a source told The Sun. “He is one of their biggest stars after reaching the final with Layton, and they don’t much like their pro dancers doing other shows on rival channels.”

They added: “The Beeb like their talent to be exclusive to them and they feel like Celebrity Big Brother isn’t the sort of thing their cast should be doing. This has put his future on the show in jeopardy and there are lots of discussions going on behind closed doors about whether he will be asked back.”
