Strictly judge weighs in on Pete Wicks and Jowita’s ‘chemistry’ as romance rumours swirl

A Strictly judge has given their thoughts on the rumoured relationship between two of this year’s stars.

Craig Revel Horwood said he has noticed “chemistry” between Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal, as rumours continue to swirl around the pair. The duo are safely through to next week’s show, but already fans believe their on-screen banter may be more romantic.

TOWIE star Pete, 36, is competing in this year’s edition BBC competition with Polish professional Jowita, 30. After just a couple of dances, the pair have already entranced the judging panel and viewers at home, but now it seems that Craig has seen sparks fly between the two.

Fans who had been watching the first couple of weeks of the new series immediately picked up on the chemistry between the reality star and his partner. One fan watching the show said: “Why do they look so beautiful together? Pete’s got a huge sparkle in his eye when he’s around her.”

Other eagle-eyed fans have declared Pete to be “smitten” with his partner. Now Craig has given his perspective on the situation, as he explained everything that he has seen between the pair.

“There is a lot of giggling going on and chumminess with Pete and Jowita,” Craig said in an interview with Best magazine. “It’s probably due to the face he’s a bit of a card – he’s very funny; their chemistry will make for some fab-u-lous dances, I’m sure of it!”

Pete’s best pal Sam Thompson has joked that he has been relegated to “third wheeling” as Pete turns his attention to Jowita and the competition. The ex- I’m A Celebrity winner cheekily quipped last week: “I think they are in love,” but quickly added that their relationship was platonic.

“He cares about her so much, the way he looks at her, I’ve never seen it before,” Sam added. “I just want to see him happy, he is one of the best people I know.”

Away from the competition, Jowita made appearance on the duo’s podcast Staying Relevant this week. A teaser for the upcoming episode hinted that Sam may be more jealous than he lets on, joking that he was “third wheeling” on the show, before describing the pro as a “ray of sunshine”.

On Strictly’s sister show It Takes Two, Pete and Jowita have said they are loving working together, with Pete saying he was “absolutely loving” the experience. “I’m not a dancer, I don’t think I have any rhythm,” he said, “but what I am loving is the whole learning experience and that bit is the most exciting for me, in the rehearsal room with Jowita.”

Last week, Jowita and Pete were able to impress the judges just a little bit more than Week 1, earning a combined score of 39 points for both dances. The score put them in the middle of the scoreboard for now, but as the show continues, the pair will need to pull out all the stops to earn the 10s across the board.

Strictly Come Dancing airs every Saturday and Sunday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
