Strictly’s Ellie Leach still ‘great friends’ with rumoured ex Bobby Brazier

Ellie Leach has said she and Strictly Come Dancing co-star Bobby Brazier are “great friends” as romance rumours continue to swirl.

The pair were both contestants on the last series of the BBC ballroom show and there had been speculation about a romance blossoming between them. The relationship was never confirmed and it’s now been reported that they have gone their separate ways anyway.

Coronation Street actress Ellie has now opened up to The Sun about how close she and Bobby are – although she didn’t spill on whether they’d ever been an item.

The TV beauty, who won Strictly with her pro partner Vito Coppola, said that she and Bobby had built “an amazing friendship during the show”. And she said it had been “really nice to be able to spend time with each other – and with everyone – on the tour”.

Ellie also suggested the fact she is 23 and Bobby is 20 was one of the reasons they bonded as they shared the Strictly journey. “We were the youngest people in Strictly and both going through that same experience – one which nothing can prepare you for,” she said. “And I think doing that at the same time as someone else gives you something to relate to and to bond over.”

“We’re great friends,” added the brunette TV star. “We got along really well, and we still do.”

Rumours about Ellie and Bobby – who is the son of late Big Brother star Jade Goody – had been cranking up for a while. Then as the Strictly Come Dancing tour started making its way around the country, fans claimed to have seen them on secret dates.

But then in March it was reported that the brief romance had come to an end and that the soap stars had split up.

A source told The Sun: “Love blossomed between them when they were in close quarters on the tour, but once that ended they both spent much less time together. That gave them space to think about the future, which is likely to take them in very different directions over the coming year or two.”
