Supernanny is known as one of the most iconic and controversial shows of the noughties.
Jo Frost fronted the show, which featured families in need with unruly children. The series saw Frost enter family houses and implement discipline plans for each child after watching the broken dynamic between the children and their parents.
The show wasn’t without some controversial moments, with one of the most memorable being from Jo’s visit to the Davis family. Upon arrival, Supernanny witnessed family patriarch Phil shouting and swearing at his kids.

As the inspection went on, Phil branded his stepdaughter Morgan a “s**t” for dressing “provocatively”. Phil also disciplined his daughters by smacking them and spanking them with a belt or his hands – his behaviour got so bad that his wife, Debbra, admitted they’d previously split because of it.

When Jo visited the Chapman family, it was actually the children who reached out for help from Supernanny. The parents were working full time and their eldest daughters Brittany and Moriah were left to look after the younger kids while balancing chores and schoolwork as well.

During one segment, Brittany becomes so stressed that she faints while in the middle of teaching and is taken to hospital, where it is confirmed that the cause was stress. Jo begs the parents to take notice after speaking to the camera: “Just as I was going over the chores, I saw Brittany looked a little pale, a little faint.”
While meeting with the Cooke family, Jo is faced with one of her toughest challenges yet. Meghann provided Supernanny fans with one of the most memorable episodes of the entire show.

Her mother noted that she is bossy and rude, while fans saw Meghann scratch her mother in the face and shout at her parents for trying to discipline her. The children’s behaviour got so out of hand that the family hardly ever went out together and things don’t get much better when Jo arrives.
Meghann quipped: “Well, my friend thinks you’re a b**** and I agree with her,” before attempting to slap, bite and scratch the TV personality.
